Maths

A Level Mathematics builds on the skills and knowledge that you have learned at GCSE; it extends and develops the concepts allowing you to refine and enhance your problem solving and mathematical thinking skills. You will study both abstract mathematical concepts and create models to solve real-life problems through application of your mathematics.

Studying Mathematics at A Level is a challenging, rewarding and enjoyable experience. The course is demanding but with dedication and hard work throughout the two years you will embed mathematical skills and can achieve success. Key attributes to achieving success in this A level include: strong algebraic manipulation skills; an ability to link and apply different concepts and topics; tenacity and a determination to succeed. In lessons and homeworks teachers will help you nurture and develop these attributes to give you a deeper understanding of the curriculum content. At Great Yarmouth Charter Academy, we pride ourselves on our supportive environment, providing guidance and support throughout the course.
